WHY WE EXIST
Northside Baptist exists to bring glory to God, make passionate disciples of Jesus Christ, and make the gospel known throughout the Earth.
WHAT WE DO
We are a making, teaching, and reaching church. Our mission has been outlined in Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
OUR COMMUNITY
We serve the community of Mineral Wells, Texas through addiction recovery programs, children's ministries, and other volunteer outreach.
BASIC BELIEFS
We believe the Bible alone speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, and this is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We also believe that for purposes of church doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, we must state and agree to the Bible's meaning and application. Our basic beliefs are laid out in brief, definitive statements below. Our statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith, but summarizes historic Christian beliefs, promotes unity in Christ, and guards the church from error.
The Word of God
We affirm that the Scriptures, consisting only of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are not a mere witness to divine revelation but are God's complete written revelation of Himself to humanity, graciously given to us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and according to God's sovereign purposes in Jesus Christ.
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit- who are equal in every divine perfection, and that the persons of God execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that the Father orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. We believe in His virgin birth by the Holy Spirit, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary and propitiatory death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to Earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. He is coequal, consubstantial, and coeternal with the Father and the Son.
Man
We believe that man was created by God in His own image and likeness. We believe that God's intention in the creation of man was that man should glorify God by enjoying Him forever. Because all humanity descended from Adam a nature corrupted by Adam's sin has been transmitted to all of humanity.
Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We do not believe these ordinances hold any salvific value. These ordinances are means by which God reveals His Gospel to His people and brings loving encouragement into their lives.
